But then I just couldn’t bring myself to put Country Road on Stoned-Campbell … so I said “Surely Bob has One Love for BOB Marley!” 😉 For you Bob

Robert, I have an eclectic taste for all kinds of music, but to choose Bob Marley because my name is Bob is not very creative. I am sure you can come up with something better. I do like Dan Fogelberg just as well as I like John Denver. (FAAAAARRRR OUT!!!!) 😉

Bobby. You’re such a music snob. Marley’s great and all, but John Denver was more than “Country Roads.” He was “Annie’s Song,” “Calypso,” “Sunshine on my Shoulders;” he was “Back Home Again,” “I Want to Live,” “To the Wild Country,” Grandma’s Feather Bed.” “Leaving on a Jet Plane.” “How Can I Leave You Again?”
His lyrics were poetry. He wrote the words that expressed universal feelings. And that’s not just my opinion– he was Poet Laureate of Colorado in 1977, and won Carl Sandburg’s People’s Poet Award in 1982. And even if he hadn’t written the words, his unmistakable voice took the words he sang straight to his listeners’ hearts.
Every song sung clear and sweet, rich and true.
And if you must keep the theme going, how much more ‘stoned’ can you get than his “Rocky Mountain High”?
Wow – interesting tastes in music here… Bob, I don’t think Dan Fogelberg ever said “FAAAAARRRR OUT!!!!”, Sonny Bono maybe, but not Dan Fogelberg. Are you sure you’re not really a Karen Carpenter fan? Jeanne I am cut to the quick!! 😉 I repent. Me and John Denver have a lot in common as you pointed out in Rocky Mountain High. I am sure that JD writes great poetry … sort of a country version of Bob Dylan.
I never quite made it to any concerts in the 1970s though … I was still watching the Speed Racer and the Mickey Mouse Club.

John Lennon cannot help it that he was shot. He was being friendly to a fan. And Bob, Bob Marley’s album (Exodus) was one of the greatest of the 20th century. And he did not die of a drug overdose but of cancer.
