Kingdom Come
Author: Bobby Valentine | Filed under: Books, Kingdom Come, Restoration History New Book on Living in the Shadow of the Kingdom of God
John Mark Hicks & Bobby Valentine’s new book is now available through Leafwood/ACU Press. The book is a major study of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus living in the “shadows” of the Second Coming . . . in a postmodern age. This book explores the dynamics of the theology of David Lipscomb and James A. Harding, then moves to make contemporary application of that theology. The book is divided into three major sections:
Divine Dynamics which chapters that cover
The contours of kingdom theology
God’s active involvement in the world through providence
The Holy Spirit as the divine agent and power for kingdom living
Kingdom Spirituality which covers the “Means of Grace”
Listening to God
Fellowship with the Poor
Communion with God through Worship
Crying for the Kingdom in prayer
Kingdom Life . . . the Essential Freedoms of Disciples as Children of God
Pledging Allegiance to the kingdom
Freedom to Think and Speak
Cosmic Liberation
Afterword: Where do we go from here?
This book is more than an exercise in remembering. It is an exercise in spiritual formation. Each chapter concludes with a prayer, suggested exercises and readings.

Yeah, I wondered who John Dobbs was talking about when he said post modernism is a myth and people are just going to write about it to make money. LOL!! Looks like a good book.

Bobby,
I talked with Jerry Rushford tonight and he told me that your book would be released at Pepperdine. I will be so lost next week, not being in Malibu.
Peace to you. Enjoy Malibu.

C4,
I am going to be raking in the dough! 🙂
Steve,
It is sad to know you will not be at Pepperdine. Perhaps we can run into each other on the other coast in Melbourne . . . or beside Lake Michigan.
Shalom,

C4, they will have to look far and wide for my theory on postmodernism … but it is on Danny Dodd’s blog, in a comment. LOL
I’ll see you at Pepperdine, Bobby, Lord willing. I want you to sign my copy of your book.

To alter a line from the “Bullwinkle Moose Show,” “Looks I need to get another book.”

Bobby, the “other person” you met in line at Pepperdine w/ Keith Davis was me. But we meet so many people and I may have never even told you my name. I was the one telling John Mark how much his teachings on “the table” had blessed our church and he asked me to email him.
It was a good week! Congrats on your book selling out.
