Jethro Tull – Broadsword

Author: Bobby Valentine | Filed under: Bobby's World, Music

One of my favs. Great song which sort of has a contemplative mood to it and that sort of describes me at this moment. But on a lighter note make sure you see the “crowd” at the end of the clip. It is humorous!!

I never went to that many concerts when I was young but I did go to a Jethro Tull concert in the fall of 72 in Memphis. It was the best of all rock concerts in my memory. Not so overpoweringly loud as most of them are. Usually for me the sound at rock concerts was distorted and hardly ever as good as the recording. That was not the case with JT. They were as we say tight. I hadn’t heard the song in the video before. Once upon a time I had the Aqualung and Thick as a Brick recordings – and these were performed at that concert.

What a crack-up! The crowd, that is. Lest I linger too long in laughter at others, I remind myself that somewhere in the garage is a box with Jethro Tull on eight track tape. Thanks for sharing. Happy Independence Day!

Last year my wife and I went to a concert of a Beatles imitation group. There were not many under 50. However, the group in this video is really a crackup. Even more so is the costumes that Jethro Tull wore. Ian is way to serious.

It’s good to hear from you, Bobby, and the pictures are great.

I’m here in Abilene with my mom this week, so we have been talking a lot about when she and my dad lived in Tucson and he was an elder at Palo Verde. She still has some dear friends who are members there.

I pray that your heart will be at ease as much as possible in the “situation” you are in. I know that it is very difficult for you, but we all love you and are pulling for you and praying for you.

Cheers & Blessings to you all today!

    Dee
