My Best Recieved Post … So Far
Author: Bobby Valentine | Filed under: Bobby's World, PreachingMy best Received Post
If I am counting right the best received post I have placed on my blog is “Jesus: Welcoming Friend of Sinners.” I am still prayerful about it. Here is a quick link to the post if you have not read it before:

It was a great post and it reminded us to be “Jesus” to those around us that really need Jesus.

Bobby, I like your writings.
Here in TX a few months ago there was a big deal with the whole Gay Marriage issue.
I personally am against it, but I think some Christians and churches may have taken it too far.
Maybe at times we’ve made it an us versus them battle.
There’s a quote I’ve come across, and I think your airplane trip is an example.
“Have you ever seen someone pull a photo out of their wallet and argue about the supremacy of this particular loved one? Of course not. They show you the picture and give you the opportunity to see what they see.”

Hey Bobby,
I really like your blog! I’m also glad you found mine. We can keep in touch better this way. I know, I know, my blog is one of those blogs that Dr. Black would never read, but I like it just the way it is. I hope you have a great day. Good luck with your paper!

Bobby,
I stop by all the time. I just don’t comment very often.

hi bobby, i’ve been doing more writing than research, but both have gone well. i just finished a rough draft of my last chapter. my defense is set for november. i actually have a one-year position as lecturer in afr. amer. history next year at iowa state univ., so i hope to have things wrapped up for the most part by the beginning of the school year. i also have some upcoming oral histories that should be interesting…john allen chalk…norman adamson…MAYBE billie sol estes…
i should warn you that the diss. is hideous…very poorly written in places…i’m embarrassed at the thought of others reading it. i have a little more hope for the book…best, barclay

Thanks for checking out my blog (drewgaylor.typepad.com). I read your post about Jesus welcoming sinners and thought it was great. I often wonder what our churches would look like if we took Jesus more seriously. It’s always good to find a fellow Stoner out there in blogland.

Your post fits exactly with the comments on my recent blog. Thanks and thanks for stopping by over there. I’m reading KC and making notes as I go along. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar enough with Lipscomb and Harding to evaluate that part. Thank you for sharing the book.
Peace.

Bobby,
I agree with you an excellent post.
May we as Christians and the church espcially remember that Jesus welcomed sinners. He offered forgiveness and hope to adluteress’, divorcee’s, prostitutes, tax-colletors, “sinners”, outcast in society. May his church be like Him and welcome and offer healing to those in our communiities who need Jesus. As Jesus it is not the healthy who need a Dr. but the sick.
Thanks Bobby, for this great post.

Hey Bobby,
I didn’t see an e-mail address, so wanted to post here and thank you for your recent comment on our blog. We had a great trip to the Midwest and would love to make it to Milwaukee sometime.
Thanks again,
Bobby Ross

Bobby! Yes, that’s me. You helped a lot in our tiny Restoration Theology class with Dr. Hicks. I also had Modern and Reformation Church History with you last semester. I was looking at your blog and noticed that you have some comments from Bob Hendren. Do you know Bob? He preached at my home congregation for many many years, and many consider his days there to have been the best our congregation ever had. (Of course, it was nice when we had Randy Harris, too). Thanks for dropping me a note. I’ll keep an eye on your blog as well. Hope things are going well up in…where is it? Wisconsin? Later!
