when the children cry – white lion – with sub

Author: Bobby Valentine | Filed under: Bobby's World, Christian hope, Kingdom, Music

White Lion had several songs in the 80s that were among my favs of the day. I offer this video on behalf of the children of the world. One day the Gospel of Jesus Christ will flow over all of us and there will be no more need for songs like this. Sometimes the rockers “get it” better than we do.  May the Lord have mercy upon us all …

i am SO happy that SOME CoCer out there actually digs 80’s hair band music! =o) Can’t tell you how many times i’ve wanted to talk to someone about Firehouse, Poison, Slaughter, or Whitesnake and even people my age had little idea or little interest of what i was talking about. =oP

Guy … haven’t you checked out my vodpod!!!??? or Facebook? are we FB friends??

G-n-R rules. But Def Lepperd, Motley Crue, Van Halen, KISS … saw the all in concernt. Warrent, Poison, Ratt, Guiffria, Cult. Ohhhh yeah. The best music!

i am tragically unhip i’m afraid. i don’t even have a facebook. i have a myspace but stopped keeping up with it well over a year ago.

i saw Def Leppard and Journey in concert in 2006. That was an incredible show. My first concert ever was Poison, Firehouse, and Damn Yankees.

i think based on pure number of songs i have on my mp3 player, my top 3 are Firehouse, Slaughter, and Whitesnake. i’d love to see Firehouse again in concert.

i have 3 part-time jobs, one of which is guitar instruction. i have around 20 students. i’m teaching one student “Don’t Need Nothin’ But A Good Time” right now, and he just got done learning “I Remember You” by Skid Row.

We have an 80’s concert once a year here in OKC. It used to be Rocklahoma, but this past year they totally changed Rocklahoma into just a modern rock show. But we still had a three day 80’s event at the Zoo Ampitheater. Unfortunately, i didn’t go. It was 40-ho-jillion degrees outside and an outdoor show. And i had things scheduled during the particular bands i wanted to see. Hopefully there’ll be a next time though.

Wow! I can’t believe you posted this. I remember the day I made my very conservative grandfather (a preacher in the Church of Christ) listen to this song. I was a teenager with big hair 😉

I don’t know if he was impressed or not but I was thinking at the time – what a great sermon illustration.

    🙂

Paula … it is a great sermon illustration. I have used it more than once. During our annual 24 hour hunger strike/fast with the teens this is shown.
Was a big fan of White Lion … I wonder if my hair was longer than yours back in the day??? 🙂
