Off to Pepperdine

I will be out of town this entire week at the Pepperdine in Sunny California. I will be speaking three times with my cohorts John Mark Hicks and we have added Johnny Melton to the mix this year. We will be speaking Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings on “A Gathered People.” The substance of our presentation will be drawn from our soon to be released book of that same title.

If you are in Malibu stop by and talk with me. I am looking forward to seeing you there.

Shalom,
Bobby Valentine

Oooh. Wish I could be there. Have a great time. Give us a report when you can.

So I am a friend of Scott’s–you know, the guy who writes “Seeing God’s Breath.” I am an MDiv student at ACU. I am interested in getting a chance to read your stuff. My blog is a lot different than Scott’s in that I try to avoid journal article style writing. Plus, Scott and I disagree a pretty good bit. But that is another issue entirely! Check it out at: mateov.wordpress.com. I’d love your feedback.

What I was wanting to share is that Mark Hamilton from ACU is going to be speaking. Go see him if you get a chance. I know you’ll be glad you did.

May the God of Grace be with you. matt vaughan

Good luck and God bless you out there at Pepperdine during the Lecuters. Wish I could go, but can’t this year.
I pray everything goes well for all of y’all! When is your book due to be released? I’d love to get it and read it. I got your book Kingdom Come too.
    Be blessed Bobby! Peace out.

Read this book it is an eye opener:

They Never Told Me This in Church!
A Call to Read the Bible with New Eyes by former Church of Christ pastor Greg Deuble

There is a consensus among many New Testament scholars that much of what the historical Jesus and his apostles taught has been submerged by an influx of post-biblical tradition. In They Never Told Me This in Church! Greg Deuble invites the reader to a careful re-examination of “the faith once delivered” in the light of the Hebrew heritage which formed the framework of all that Jesus taught in regard to himself and his Gospel mission (2006, 433 pages, $16).
