So terribly tragic, and interspersed with the news this morning about VT (on CNN Headline News) are scenes from the Mary Winkler trial and the story of her nine year old daughter’s testimony yesterday against her mother.
How terribly sad and tragic it all is.
God help us all, we pray . . .

The tragedy is numbing to say the least. I’ll never understand how one man can kill 32 other people without being stopped.

Bobby, Thanks for the video of Clapton and McCartney. While My Guitar Gently Weeps is my favorite song on the Beatles’ White Album and all time favorite George Harrison song. I think it is a classic. Clapton is also a favorite. I liked him best when he was with the Yardbirds and then Cream.
Now that I have done the lighthearted comment, I too have been following the tragedy at VT. With our daughter and her family just minutes away it is a situation that draws me even closer emotionally. This world brings sorrow and weeping but God brings joy and gladness. He truly is great. Lamentations seems particularly appropriate for this time.
I had not heard anything lately about the Winkler trial. Dee is right about “how terribly sad and tragic it all is.”

Lamentations is the book that came to mind most after 9/11/01 and seeing the smoke rising from lower Manhattan.
Such tragedies seem to produce a temporary pause in the maddening rush away from God. For a short time a few may pause to consider our tenuous hold on life and need for God. But, such contemplations are short-lived for most.

Yeah…. I thought of that song for my own post on the terrible day of weeping. It’s been a favorite of mine for many years. Still, I could not get Ashokan Farewell out of my head, so that was my choice.
